Dr. Shahid Shafi is a surgeon, currently serving as Chief Quality & Medical Officer for Texas Health Southwest and Clearfork. Previously, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of the Aga Khan University Hospital in Pakistan, Chief Medical Officer and VP Population Health for CommonSpirit Health in Arkansas, CEO of a large surgical group in Dallas, Medical Director for Surgical quality at Baylor Scott & White Health system in Dallas, and Medical Director for Trauma Surgery services at University of Texas Southwestern and Parkland Hospital in Dallas. He has published over 100 articles in peer-reviewed journals on surgical quality, served in leadership roles at the American College of Surgeons, American Association for the Surgery of Trauma, and the Eastern Association for the Surgery of Trauma.

After graduating from the Aga Khan University in 1988, Dr. Shafi trained in General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, and Surgical Critical Care at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey and the University of Pennsylvania. He also completed an MPH from the Johns Hopkins University and an MBA from Southern Methodist University.

Shahid and Ayesha celebrated their 33rd anniversary this year. The family has lived in Southlake for over two decades, where Dr. Shafi has also served two terms as an elected City Councilman.
