Dr. Shafik Dharamsi
Dean of the UNT Health College of Public Health
Dr. Shafik Dharamsi is Professor and Dean of the College of Public Health at the University of North Texas Health Science Center. He completed his PhD at the University of British Columbia, where he earned tenure in the Department of Family Medicine and co-directed the UBC Center for International Health. His work spans public health, medical education, global health, and ethics.
Dr. Dharamsi has held leadership roles across various settings, including Regional Director for Early Childhood Development with the Aga Khan Development Network in East Africa; Founding Associate Dean at the School of Osteopathic Medicine, University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio; Dean of the College of Health Sciences at the University of Texas at El Paso; and Senior Advisor to the Provost at New Mexico State University.
He serves on several national and international boards, bridging medical and public health education with global and community impact.
