Alim is an Engineering Manager at Etsy, based in Austin, where he currently leads teams that inject real-world knowledge from LLMs into traditional recommendation systems. Originally from Montreal and a UBC Computer Science graduate, he launched his career in the Bay Area, where he worked on early BERT adoption at Google and conducted applied research at Twitter Cortex. Before joining Etsy, he focused on deploying foundational generative AI models as a Staff Machine Learning Engineer at Spotify.
